I've been evaluating the differences and relative merits of Ruby on Rails, Trails, Hibernate, Tapestry, Eclipse, Netbeans 5, Glassfish, Geronimo, etc.,etc., for some time now and boy am I tired! A man could drown in confusion in the sea of jargon and alphabet soup acronyms I've been inundated in over the last few weeks – POJO, SOA, OAS, O/R mappings, persistence, yada, yada, yada …
The Java world is drowning in so much mind-numbing and obviously needless complexity that it's no wonder Ruby on Rails seems to taking developers by storm; one shouldn't have to work this hard to build web sites.
